2024 Upcoming Aerial & Kids Yoga Schedules

Happy New Year! I’m excited for 2024 and all of its possibilities. Here’s the upcoming schedule of yoga classes offered by both Flying Beach Yoga & Kula Yoga Kids. I invite you to check any of it out, as there’s hopefully something for everyone in your family. If any of these classes are of interest to you but you’d like to request a different time or location, contact me at FlyingBeachYoga@gmail.com and we’ll see what we can do.

Kids Aerial Yoga is a class designed to empower and uplift kids to their highest authentic selves.  Using the colorful hammocks, we develop increased proprioception of where our bodies are in time and space in relation to the earth.  The aerial yoga practice is powerful for kids in building self awareness, self confidence, and strength in a fun environment.  Kids need to bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothing that does not have buttons or zippers as it can rip the fabric.  (Also no jewelry). Their adults are welcome to stay or go during the class.  Space is limited to 10 so pre-registration is required.  Ages 7 and up.

The Kids Yoga Colors  & Sounds  Series is a program where we learn about how energy is organized through the body using the chakra system. Each week we focus on a different energy center and its associated color, as well as tools including yoga poses, specialized meditations, as well as learning about foods, sound frequencies (associated music notes), and even stones to learn how to better take care of our body and mind as we grow.

We use yogic philosophy to explain the 5 elements, our 5 senses, and how those elements are organized in the body as well as our perceptions of our outer world.

Your child will receive 7 chakra stones and a ‘Kula Yoga Kids’ Color & Sounds Activity Book their first week as part of the learning curriculum. Classes are 45 minutes long and led by Michele Fedora, ERYT500.

Early Release Wednesdays  until 2:15pm.

Kids Yoga classes are fun classes that seem more like playtime to the kids than yoga. Our qualified Kula Yoga Kids instructors will take the kids through a series of yoga poses all the while teaching them to connect with their inner peace. This is done through yoga postures, breathing techniques, and mindfulness practices. This is a 45 minute class once weekly held on school premises. It is open ONLY to the kids of the school where it is located. Kids should come in comfortable clothes with a water bottle and yoga mat. (Mats for sale online or on site with instructor for $20 each, carrying straps for $10). Instructor will bring a few  rental mats for students who forgot theirs, but it is recommended for them to bring their own.

Aerial Yin uses the hammock to set our bodies up in postures that stretch the body’s connective tissue, particularly around the joints, which means being in the asana for several minutes to get the desired effect.  Yoga asanas are designed to touch each part of the body in order to take care of it.  Yin tissues like tendons, ligaments, and connective tissues need slow, gentle pressure delivered steadily in stillness for longer periods. This is a  practice designed to open you up physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, bringing us all to our centers.

Aerial Yin is a practice of letting go. We show up, and go looking for all the places we are holding tension in the body. The asanas show us the way. Once we enter a posture, we breathe and simply stay. The studio is filled with healing sounds, both familiar and not,To give the mind space to unwind, so we can release all the knots. Guided mediations are offered in flow as your mind calms to a whisper, As you let go while the candlelight flickers. We are supported in the hammocks both down low and up high, for Aerial Yin is also the practice to gain control of our minds. If the class appears full, go ahead and walk in, You can practice using bolsters and blocks on the mat for this candlelight yin. Sign-up is at https://www.mykulayoga.com
