2023 Upcoming Aerial & Kids Yoga Schedules

Happy New Year! I’m excited for 2023 and all of its possibilities. Here’s the upcoming schedule of yoga classes offered by both Flying Beach Yoga & Kula Yoga Kids. I invite you to check any of it out, as there’s hopefully something for everyone in your family. If any of these classes are of interest to you but you’d like to request a different time or location, contact me at and we’ll see what we can do. Namaste, Michele Fedora

Kids Aerial Yoga is a class designed to empower and uplift kids to their highest authentic selves.  Using the colorful hammocks, we develop increased proprioception of where our bodies are in time and space in relation to the earth.  The aerial yoga practice is powerful for kids in building self awareness, self confidence, and strength in a fun environment.  Kids need to bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothing that does not have buttons or zippers as it can rip the fabric.  (Also no jewelry). Their adults are welcome to stay or go during the class.  Space is limited to 10 so pre-registration is required.  Ages 7 and up. Click here for more info and to sign up.

The Kids Yoga Colors  & Sounds  Series is a 7 week program where we learn about how energy is organized through the body using the chakra system. Each week we focus on a different energy center and its associated color, as well as tools including yoga poses, specialized meditations, as well as learning about foods, sound frequencies (associated music notes), and even stones to learn how to better take care of our body and mind as we grow.

We use yogic philosophy to explain the 5 elements, our 5 senses, and how those elements are organized in the body as well as our perceptions of our outer world.

Your child will receive a stone each week as part of the learning curriculum and will be provided a handout with a learning activity each week.  Click here for more info and to sign up!

Kids Yoga classes are fun classes that seem more like playtime to the kids than yoga. Our instructors will come to your child’s preschool and take the kids through a series of yoga poses all the while teaching them to connect with their inner calmness through yoga postures, breathing techniques, and mindfulness practices. This class is open ONLY to the kids that attend that preschool. *THIS IS AN IN-PERSON CLASS. PLEASE ONLY SIGN UP IF YOUR CHILD ATTENDS PRESCHOOL AT LOCATION LISTED.

Kids should wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move around in. No yoga mats required, we provide our own preschool sized mats or use the mats the school provides. Click here for more info and to sign up!

Aerial Yin uses the hammock to set our bodies up in postures that stretch the body’s connective tissue, particularly around the joints, which means being in the asana for several minutes to get the desired effect.  Yoga asanas are designed to touch each part of the body in order to take care of it.  Yin tissues like tendons, ligaments, and connective tissues need slow, gentle pressure delivered steadily in stillness for longer periods. This is a  practice designed to open you up physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, bringing us all to our centers.

Aerial Yin is a practice of letting go. We show up, and go looking for all the places we are holding tension in the body. The asanas show us the way. Once we enter a posture, we breathe and simply stay. The studio is filled with healing sounds, both familiar and not,To give the mind space to unwind, so we can release all the knots. Guided mediations are offered in flow as your mind calms to a whisper, As you let go while the candlelight flickers. We are supported in the hammocks both down low and up high, for Aerial Yin is also the practice to gain control of our minds. If the class appears full, go ahead and walk in, You can practice using bolsters and blocks on the mat for this candlelight yin. Sign-up is at

Swadisthana Chakra Kids Yoga Classes

This past week we hosted the 2nd week of classes in our Kids Yoga Colors and Sounds Series. We went over the Sacral or Swadisthana Chakra. The element is water, the color is orange and the sense is taste. We practiced mantras of “I am creative, I am flexible, I am joyful”. This is the energy center that houses our flow and creativity so we practiced flowing postures for asana practice. The kids were given cards with the mantras and postures on them so they can practice at home as well. At the CCE class we were surrounded by water with the rain coming down and through the gym pavilion where we practiced, and the kids kept flowing with it all and it was precious. At Chisholm we were blessed with better weather and the kids yoga flowed beautifully, breathing and smiling with every posture. Check out our couple of short videos showing how re roll! If your child digs the music playlist and wants to practice with it at home, you can follow “Kula Yoga Kids” on Spotify and get the music we use there! Looking forward to our next installment where we study the Solar Plexus or Manipura Chakra!

With much gratitude, Mrs Michele Fedora ERYT500

Kids Yoga Colors and Sounds Series – Muladhara Chakra

We began our kids yoga Color and Sounds Series this week and the kids all did fantastic! We are organizing the lessons over this 7 week series to learn about 1 aspect of our subtle energy body each week as organized by the Chakra System.  This past week, we studied the root chakra, or Muladhara.  This is located at the base of the spine and is associated with the earth element, the color red, and the number 4. It concerns our home, our roots, our foundations.  We learned some mantras or affirmations to help us feel grounded. “I am balanced, I am healthy, I am safe”.

We learned healthy foods to eat to support this “rooted energy” such as root vegetables, nuts, seeds, and beans.  And, of course, we learned many grounding yoga poses (asanas). Each child received a bag of chakra colored stones.  This week the stone is Red Jasper which is also called the “gentle nurturer” stone and can be helpful to meditate with it in your hand while bringing the above mantras to mind.  There are instructions on the index card they received.

Each week we will add on, as we go through all the elements, colors and sounds.  We had a low 396 hZ background track going for part of the class to support this energy center.  We will be referring to the Hawkins Scale of Conscienceness for your info if you wanna check it out.  Each color, sound, and even emotion has a certain frequency associated with it, so we will be learning how choosing to operate our minds with gratitude (which is a frequency of 432 hZ, for example), can literally raise our vibration and guide us into always feeling our best, down to a subtle energy level. They will continue to come home with new index cards each week, and I invite you to practice any of it with them and/or start a conversation with them about it.

Again, thank you for your support of this wellness program of yoga, mindfulness and meditation practice for the kids.  It is my honor, joy and privilege to teach your kids these fun and creative ways to take care of ourselves.  If you have any interest in coming to assist/volunteer for a class, reach out and let me know so we can coordinate. The beautiful energy they create with practice  is contagious and it may very likely be the best part of your day. I hope you enjoy the videos I made.  Being around all the little yogis inspires me to give them my very best every time, and I am extremely grateful for all of it.

With much gratitude,

Mrs Michele Fedora ERYT500

Aerial Yoga Live Teacher Training

This past weekend I had the opportunity to host an aerial yoga teacher training (AYTT) for 6 amazing women up in the small town of Clare, Michigan.  I traveled from warm 70 degree ocean breezes in FL to about 0-10 degrees.  The landscape was beautiful, covered in a fresh blanket of white snow. My host family/studio owners had a way of making me feel right at home as they shared theirs with me for the weekend.  My plane arrived later than anticipated so we went direct to training and dove right in.  I was greeted by these 6 beautiful souls who had come together to get me up there for their intensive weekend learning and practicing in the aerial hammocks.  I got to listen to their stories, their intentions, their reasons for showing up, and I shared my journey to aerial yoga for personal healing with them.  It was deep and we were just beginning.

We practiced, learned, laughed, and loved it all.  I heard no complaints from this crew… these were strong women that remained open to all I had to offer through the weekend, despite their aches and pains, bruises and mishaps.  One of the beautiful aspects of this practice is that we get to learn about support.  We get to be supported by the hammock from all different angles, many of them new.  We practice both being supported, and how we can best support each other.

We get to detoxify intensely, letting go of much.  No one comes out of AYTT unchanged, not even me.  The fabric heals as it pushes in on all of these areas on the body.  Where we are supported is also where we are physically getting cleaned out.  Sluggish lymphatic fluid starts flowing, from under the arms, across the shoulders, even in the groin where the supportive legs meet the torso during such postures like flying dragon.  We stretch and strengthen, flip upside down and build new brain pathways as all of our energy channels are cleared.  Until there is nothing left but you and your relationship with this fabric hanging from above.  How you’re being about it is all you.  All your shit, mentally and physically, will come up, and gratefully be recognized and cleared quickly.  Aerial yoga is also a way to reconnect with my inner child instantly while floating and playing in the rainbow of beautiful swings.  It all happens in an aerial yoga practice.

I had a million reasons to say no.  All the thoughts of things like dangerous winter travel, never-ending pandemic variables, lingering fear of getting on an airplane, uncertainty of where I was headed, taking the time away from my husband and boys, delaying restarting the kids yoga programs at the schools, and the list can go on and on and on of why to say no.  However, I do my best to have a practice of saying yes.  It’s why I am who I am today. Yes. It’s powerful and it’s a high vibration to operate in yes mode.  I’m grateful I did.  All of those thoughts plus many more not listed above… I got to work through all of them in one single weekend.  All of the no’s got healed by the one “yes”.

Thank you wholeheartedly to my hosts, Kim & Jeff for the invitation and letting me stay with them in their beautiful home, and for feeding me, chauffeuring me and making sure I had everything I needed to have a comfortable stay.  Thank you to the flying aerial yogi goddesses Autumn, Brianna, Heidi, Jackie, Tonya, and Wendy that took that intensive journey with me that weekend.  I am looking forward to taking each of your aerial yoga classes and feel you will all be very successful in your personal expressions of this practice.

Flipping the perspective is another great benefit of the aerial yoga practice.  The simple position of being inverted with your heart above your head benefits your body by decreasing cortisol, normalizing hormones, activating the parasympathetic nervous system, and detoxing down to a cellular level all the no’s you happen to be unknowingly carrying with you at any given time.  We discover we can be in many postures or asanas, that we may not have thought possible, with support. The list goes on and is a major part of my personal path of healing.

If you are still reading, thank you for your attention and focus. If you’re looking for more, I will be offering this program again, this time at my home studio of Kula Yoga 3/4,5,6.  It’s over a long weekend so it will hopefully be accessible to anyone wanting to join whether you live near or far.  There are online materials to go with the training so you can also practice at home or your studio with supplemental aerial yoga classes and workshop videos.  To sign up, go to

The investment for this Aerial Yoga Teacher Training is $333. This is a transformational training which is why the cost is what it is.  If you study numbers, 3 numerology is about creative expressions, it represents joy and is a social number.  33 is a transformational number regarding growth and abundance.  333 is divine, direct from angels that protect, and a reminder that we are always supported.  If that appeals to you at all, come discover all the ways we can be supported, with the use of these beautiful, locally, personally handmade hammocks.  It is my honor, joy, and privilege to share any and all of these teachings with you.

I will end with: Lokah Somasta Sukhino Bhavantu = May all being everywhere be happy and free.  May my own thoughts, words, and actions contribute to that happiness of all.

With much gratitude,

Michele Fedora

Kula Yoga Kids Class restarts at Cypress Creek Elementary!

Kula Yoga Kids Class @ CCE 111021

Kula Yoga Kids is back at Cypress Creek Elementary! And the kids showed up more than ever before! I’m so grateful to be hosting these kids yoga classes at VCS campuses, and this one is special for many reasons. It’s where Luke, my son, goes to school. It’s where we started our after school program years ago. It’s where we had our “yoga club” portable on campus, and most recently it’s where we host kids yoga classes after school on early release Wednesdays.  Sarah and I are co-hosting this one, she is an amazing Kula Yoga Kids teacher. I’ve known her for a long time, as she was also Luke’s VPK teacher years ago. (He’s 10 now).  I thought she was amazing then and that has never changed. I’m grateful to host this with her and rest assured your child will learn much and are in very capable hands with us. We had so many kids sign up last minute that we had Kerry, one of our beloved Kula Kid moms I’ve had the pleasure of knowing for years now, come to help us this day and I was very happy she could attend. We had lots to do with new mats to hand out to signing everyone in and setting up in a circle so we all could see each other.  For this size class we will have 3 adults there each week. If, as a parent, you would ever like to come help us for a day, message me and I’m glad and grateful to coordinate that with you.  It’s a fun time and you’ll get to see what we do. It was great to see older friends from before and new friends as well! We are looking forward to next weeks class and many more to follow.

We learned a lot of yoga poses during our first class and will continue to expand that. We also learned breathing techniques to release energy (lion’s breath) and (even breathing) to cultivate peace. We also used the mantra “Peace Begins With Me” to bring the mind’s focus inward as we practiced breathing while touching our thumb to each finger bringing attention to fine motor skills.  In classes we use stories, music, and games to learn yogic principles so every class is different while informative and fun.

We sent mats home with the kids this past week because I didn’t have anything large enough to haul them in. I now do have a rolling cart to put them in so if your child would like to store their mat with me instead of carrying it to school, they will be able to starting next class. (They will need their name written on their mat with Sharpie if it’s staying with me).  I also have some mat carrying straps if you’d rather them carry them. They’re $10 and I will bring them next week if you want to see them or purchase one at parent pick up. Rubber bands around a rolled up mat help keep them in place too.

For yogis ages 7-11, I offer kids aerial yoga classes at Kula Yoga in NSB Wednesdays at 4pm… I know it’s the same day. I will be offering extra classes over Thanksgiving break while they’re out of school so if you’re child would like to attend, check the website or MindBody to sign up.

For the parents, I’d like to invite you to our studios to have a yoga class. We have a studio in the PO Pavilion since 2011, and another one off Canal St in NSB since 2015. I personally teach:

Yin Yoga Sunday’s 4pm (every other week) @ Kula PO

Vinyasa Yoga 6pm (every other week) @ Kula NSB

Kids Aerial Yoga (ages 7-11) Wednesdays 4pm @ Kula NSB

Aerial Yoga 12pm Thursdays @ Kula NSB

We have many wonderful teachers and have multiple classes every day so I invite you to check out any and all of what we offer.

I would love to meet you all, and offer you a yoga practice. Your first class to Kula is always free, using the coupon code “Kula first” when you sign up.

Thank you for your support with our yoga and mindfulness kids programs and we look forward to seeing you Wednesday!

With much love and gratitude,

Mrs Michele Fedora
