Kula Yoga Kids

Our mission at Kula Yoga Kids is to empower the youth of our community through yoga and mindfulness practices; giving them the tools they need to navigate through this ever changing, fast paced world.

Our History: Jeff & Michele Fedora started the company Kula Yoga Kids in 2016 because today’s students face tremendous pressure to achieve within a world that is often overwhelming. The tools of yoga and mindfulness offer proven methods of developing the inner resilience needed to navigate physical, mental and emotional stress. Bringing these practices to our children is a simple way to support making your students’ lives healthier, and can increase their capacity to learn effectively, manage challenging emotions, self-regulate behavior, and achieve personal and academic success. Kula Yoga Kids offers a unique program combining yoga and mindfulness practices in a straightforward and intentional way. Our approach incorporates five key elements in each session: Connect, Breathe, Move, Focus and Relax. Within these elements students are taught fundamental life skills that are immediately available for daily use.

Kula Yoga Kids has sent teachers into schools across Volusia County, FL. We host kids classes of all ages, from Preschool to High School. We also host kids yoga teacher trainings at multiple yoga studios and the Kids Yoga Teacher Training is now available online.

Kids Aerial Yoga is a class designed to empower and uplift kids to their highest authentic selves.  Using the colorful hammocks, we develop increased proprioception of where our bodies are in time and space in relation to the earth.  The aerial yoga practice is powerful for kids in building self awareness, self confidence, and strength in a fun environment.  Kids need to bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothing that does not have buttons or zippers as it can rip the fabric.  (Also no jewelry). Their adults are welcome to stay or go during the class.  Space is limited to 10 so pre-registration is required.  Ages 7 and up.

Kids Yoga classes are fun classes that seem more like playtime to the kids than yoga. Our qualified Kula Yoga Kids instructors will take the kids through a series of yoga poses all the while teaching them to connect with their inner peace. This is done through yoga postures, breathing techniques, and mindfulness practices. This is a 45 minute class once weekly held on school premises. It is open ONLY to the kids of the school where it is located. Kids should come in comfortable clothes with a water bottle and yoga mat. (Mats for sale online or on site with instructor for $20 each, carrying straps for $10). Instructor will bring a few  rental mats for students who forgot theirs, but it is recommended for them to bring their own.
