Yoga Adventures with the Yamas

Children’s Yoga Books by Kula Yoga Kids

Yoga Adventures with the Yamas book series mock up

The Kula Yoga Kids Yoga Adventures with the Yamas bring yoga to life through imaginative stories that combine movement, mindfulness, breathing, and the timeless wisdom of yoga philosophy.

Unlike many children’s yoga books that focus primarily on poses, each story in this series is built around one of the Yamas — the ethical principles that form the foundation of yoga. Through memorable adventures and relatable characters, children discover lessons about kindness, truthfulness, generosity, moderation, gratitude, and caring for themselves, others, and the world around them.

Perfect for families, educators, counselors, and children’s yoga teachers, these books make the deeper teachings of yoga fun, accessible, and meaningful for young readers.

Why I Wrote These Stories

When I couldn’t find children’s books that explored the yamas in a way young readers could truly connect with, I decided to write them myself. These principles are central to what I teach in my own classes, and I wanted every child to have a story that brings them to life.

Every book pairs its story with real yoga poses, breathing exercises, and read-aloud rhymes kids can practice right along with the characters. Available now in paperback on Amazon and as instant PDF downloads directly from this site.

A Note From Michele

Hi, I’m Michele Guess, E-RYT500, founder of Kula Yoga Kids. I wrote these stories so kids could feel their big feelings — nerves, honesty, kindness, and letting go — through breath and movement, one page at a time. I hope Jack, Emma, Sam, Rosa, Maya, and Noah become good friends to your little ones.
